Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. maple syrup
    1 egg
    1/4 c. light molasses
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix the first 5 ingredients together.
    Add the remaining ingredients; blend.
    Chill for 1 hour.
    Roll into balls.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Frost with powdered sugar frosting; sprinkle with nutmeg and sugar mixed together.
