Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
1 lb. box dates, chopped
1 lb. bag orange slice candy, cut up
2 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. coconut

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time. Add flour alternately with buttermilk (and dissolved soda). Roll dates, candy, pecans and coconut in flour and add to butter mixture. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan in 250\u00b0 oven for 2 1/2 hours. Test to see if done.
