Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. fresh buttermilk or sweet milk
    1/4 tsp. soda (if buttermilk is used)
Preparation
    Measure and sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl; add soda to buttermilk.
    Cut in shortening with blender or fork.
    Add buttermilk and stir well.
    Remove fork and knead lightly to form a smooth dough.
    Toss on a lightly floured cloth or board.
    Roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut and place on oiled baking sheet.
    Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 450\u00b0.
    Serve hot.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen biscuits.
