Herbed Cheese Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. dill
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. vegetable shortening
    1/2 c. sharp shredded Cheddar or Swiss cheese
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, dill and salt. With a fork, cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse meal.
    Stir in shredded cheese.
    Add milk and stir just enough to hold dough together.
    Place on a lightly floured surface and knead lightly; roll 3/4-inch thick.
    Cut with floured biscuit cutter without turning the biscuit cutter (push straight down) and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until as brown as desired.
    Yield:
    Twelve 2-inch biscuits.
