Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    6 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. water
    2 c. milk
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 egg yolks (save whites for meringue)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients together in a heavy saucepan.
    Add water and stir until well blended.
    Add egg yolks and stir until well blended.
    Stir in mixture while gradually adding the milk.
    Add butter.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick. (Cook about 3 to 5 minutes.) Remove from heat; add the vanilla and pour into a 9-inch baked pie crust.
    Top with meringue or Cool Whip.
