Raise Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. milk, scalded
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 cakes yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
2 eggs, well beaten
5 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt.
Crumble yeast into lukewarm water to soften.
Cool milk to lukewarm and add yeast. Add eggs.
Beat in flour to make soft dough.
Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth.
Form into balls and place in oiled bowl.
Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
Deep fry until golden brown.
