3 Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (16 oz. each) cans Great Northern beans
    2 (16 oz. each) cans pintos with jalapenos
    2 (11 1/2 oz. each) cans bean with bacon soup
    2 soup cans water
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large bell pepper, chopped
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 bay leaf
    smoked ham hock
    1 chopped carrot
    skinless chicken breast or ham pieces or both
Preparation
    Combine beans with remaining ingredients (except chicken) in a large pot.
    Bring to a boil.
    Simmer 30 minutes.
    Add chicken or ham pieces or both and simmer 30 to 40 minutes until meat is cooked and tender.
    Makes 3 to 3 1/2 quarts.
