Ingredients

1/2 c. soft shortening (may use 1/2 butter)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Crumb together shortening, brown sugar and flour and press into bottom of ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
While that is baking, stir in with well beaten eggs the next 5 ingredients.
Then mix in coconut and chocolate chips. Spread on baked crust.
Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown. Cool and cut.
