German Potato Salad #2 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes (prefer red)
    1 lb. bacon
    1 c. sugar
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 c. vinegar or apple cider
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Boil potatoes in jackets; peel and slice.
    Cut bacon into small pieces and cook until almost done.
    Add onions.
    When the bacon and onions are done, add sugar.
    Stir to avoid caramelization.
    Add vinegar all at same time.
    Cook until thickened.
    Pour over potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
