German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. Baker's German's sweet chocolate
1/2 c. boiling water
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
4 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Melt chocolate in water; cool.
Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in egg yolks, one at a time.
Stir in vanilla and chocolate.
Sift flour, soda and salt.
Beat in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
Pour batter into 13 x 9-inch pan lined with waxed paper. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
Cool 15 minutes.
Frost with Coconut Pecan Frosting.
