Dakota Tradition Family Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. Gold Label Brer Rabbit molasses
    1 pt. dark Karo syrup
    2 eggs
    2 lb. raisins
    1 lb. currants or chopped soft prunes
    3 to 4 c. chopped walnuts
    1 1/2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    5 lb. flour
    1 pt. Green Label Brer Rabbit molasses
    2 c. sugar
    2 lb. softened stick oleo or butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cloves
    1 Tbsp. ginger
    3 Tbsp. baking soda, in 1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix as\tfollows:
    Pour molasses into large pan on stove and warm.
    Add sugar, eggs, oleo and soda/water mixture.
    Add spices and salt.
    Add raisins and nuts dredged in flour.
    Mix very
    stiff with
    flour.
    Roll into balls about the size of a walnut and flatten on cookie sheet with glass bottom dipped in flour.
