Old Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. butter (at room temperature)
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs (at room temperature)
    3 c. cake flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Grease and flour a tube pan.
    In a large bowl cream together the shortening, butter and sugar.
    Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Sift the flour and baking powder together and add the mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and extracts.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    Let the cake cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Serves 8.
