Cherry Dump Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (21 oz.) cans cherry pie filling
    1 pkg. white or yellow cake mix
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
    1 stick butter
Preparation
    In a greased 9 x 13-inch pan, put the cherry pie filling; spread evenly.
    Dump dry cake mix onto the cherry layer.
    Spread evenly.
    Sprinkle pecans or walnuts over the cake mix.
    Put 1 stick of butter cut in thin slices over the top.
    Bake for 50 minutes in a 325\u00b0 oven to a golden brown.
    Serve cooled with whipped cream or ice cream.
