Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 cloves garlic
    6 pods hot pepper
    6 tsp. dill seed
    green tomatoes, quartered
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. salt
Preparation
    Place garlic in bottom of each of 6 pint jars; add pepper. Pack tomatoes in jars.
    Pour 1 teaspoon dill seed in each jar. Boil vinegar, water and salt for 5 minutes.
    Pour over tomatoes. Seal jars.
    Let stand for 6 weeks.
    One sliced carrot may be added in each jar between tomatoes.
