Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raw peanuts
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white syrup
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Stir together peanuts, sugar, syrup and salt in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Place in microwave oven and cook 7 to 8 minutes, stirring well after 4 minutes.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Blend well with syrup.
    Return to microwave 1 to 2 minutes.
    Add baking soda.
    Stir until mixture is light and foamy.
    Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Let cool 1/2 to 1 hour.
    When cool, break into pieces.
    Yields 1 pound.
