Chicken Marengo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can Campbell's tomato soup
    1 can Campbell's golden mushroom soup
    3 lb. chicken parts
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 lb. (about 16) small whole white onions
    1 medium clove garlic, minced
Preparation
    In large skillet, brown chicken in shortening; pour off fat. Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Cover.
    Cook over low heat 45 minutes or until tender.
    Stir now and then.
    Uncover.
    Cook until desired consistency.
    Serves 6.
