Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 apples
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1 onion
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 medium head cabbage
Preparation
    Slice cabbage like for cole slaw. Slice apples and onions. Put in kettle; add vinegar, sugar and water. Cover and cook about 1 hour. Season with salt, pepper and butter.
