Prune Spice Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pitted prunes
    2 c. water (from soaking)
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. oleo
    1 tsp. cloves, ground
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg, ground
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Soak prunes overnight, saving 2 cups water to use later.
    Cut prunes into bits and cook prunes, liquid, sugar and oleo.
    Cool. Sift flour, salt, spices and baking soda.
    Add beaten eggs and sifted dry ingredients to cooled mix.
    Pour into 2 greased 5 x 9-inch loaf pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 , one hour.
    Yields 1 pound size loaf.
