Coconut Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    1 egg (unbeaten)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. rolled oats
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation
    Beat together the sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla until fluffy.
    Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda; mix in alternately with milk, stirring smooth after each addition.
    Stir in rolled oats, nuts and chocolate.
    Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheets and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
