Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 c. brown sugar, packed
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. dark Karo syrup
    1 Tbsp. baking soda

    recipe that comes from my grandmother and is very Pennsylvania Dutch.
