Tortilla Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 Tbsp. red chili powder
    1 Tbsp. garlic, minced
    1 tsp. coriander
    1 tsp. cumin
    2 tsp. white pepper
    1 tsp. paprika
    2 bay leaves
    2 cans clear chicken broth
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    3 medium flour tortillas
    grated cheese (Cheddar, for topping)
Preparation
    Heat vegetable oil in 3-quart saucepan on medium until hot. Add onions and saute 1 to 2 minutes until translucent.
    Add chili powder and saute for 1 minute.
    Add the remainder of seasonings and mix well.
    Add the chicken broth and stewed tomatoes and simmer for 20 minutes.
