Vidalia Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pastry for 9-inch pie
    3 c. sliced or cubed onions
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. evaporated milk (undiluted)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Make pastry and line 9-inch pie plate. Saute onions in butter or margarine until tender. Arrange on pastry. Beat eggs slightly; add evaporated milk, salt and pepper. Pour mixture over onions. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes or until metal knife inserted in center comes out clean and pie is well browned. Yield:
    4 to 6 servings.
