Fish Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1 c. diced potatoes
    3 slices salt pork, chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3/4 lb. white fish fillets (such as haddock or cod), cubed
    1/8 tsp. dried whole thyme
    1/8 tsp. marjoram
    1 c. half and half
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 to 1 tsp. parsley
Preparation
    Bring water to a boil in a Dutch oven.
    Add potatoes.
    Cover and cook 10 minutes.
    Fry salt pork until transparent.
    Add onion and cook until onion is soft and salt pork is lightly browned. Add salt pork, drippings, fish fillets, thyme and marjoram to potatoes.
    Simmer 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
    Stir in half and half, salt and pepper; simmer 5 minutes.
    Sprinkle with parsley.
    Yields 3 1/2 cups.
