Orange-Raisin Breakfast Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. raisins
    rind of 1 orange
    juice of 1 orange
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Chop or grind raisins and orange rind. Set aside. Mix together orange juice and 1 cup sugar. Set aside. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and blend. Add sour milk and blend. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in the raisin and orange rind mixture. Bake in lightly greased and floured 9 X 13 cake pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes. Pour the sugar and orange juice mixture over the top of the cake immediately and return to the oven for a few more minutes to crystalize the sugar.
