Crabby'S Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 (1 oz.) bottles red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Mix vinegar and soda in small cup; let stand until settled. Cream sugar, eggs and shortening until light.
    Make paste of cocoa and food coloring in cup.
    Add paste to shortening mix; add buttermilk and salt alternately with flour.
    Add vanilla.
    Add soda and vinegar mixture.
    Beat well.
    Bake in 2 (8-inch) round pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool and cut each layer in half to make 4 layers.
