Petits Fours - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 Tbsp. butter or oleo
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 c. cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
6 egg whites (3/4 c.)
1/4 c. sugar
Preparation

Cream together the butter and shortening.
Add 1 cup sugar and cream until light.
Add the extracts.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately with milk to batter.
Beat egg whites until foamy and add 1/4 cup sugar.
Beat to soft peak. Fold into batter.
Turn into greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 40 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cool.
Cut into shapes.
