Pumpkin Jumbos - cooking recipe

2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. water
5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. margarine or Crisco
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
Orange Icing (if desired)
Preparation

Combine raisins and water in saucepan.
Bring to boiling and simmer 5 minutes.
Drain, reserving 1/2 cup liquid; cool.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Cream margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla 3 minutes at high speed of mixer.
Alternately add dry ingredients in fourths with the raisin liquid.
Mix in raisins and nuts.
Bake at 400\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased sheet, about 2 inches apart.
