Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. beef cubes
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 can golden mushroom soup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped, canned tomatoes
    1 tsp. wine vinegar
    generous dash of cinnamon
    3 or 4 carrots, cut into chunks
    2 or 3 potatoes, cut into chunks
    1 lb. small whole white onions or 2 or 3 onions, cut into bite size chunks
Preparation
    In large, heavy pan, brown beef in shortening; pour off fat. Stir in remaining ingredients, except onions.
    Cover; cook over low heat 1 1/2 hours.
    Add onions.
    Cook 1 hour more or until meat is tender.
    Stir occasionally.
