Basic Molasses Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. unsulphured molasses
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/3 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 tsp. nutmeg
2/3 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream butter, slowly add sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, and beat until light and fluffy.
Blend in molasses.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add alternately with buttermilk beginning and ending with flour.
Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 about 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
