Date-Nut Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    16 oz. box dates, chopped
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 Tbsp. oleo
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk and oleo and cook until it forms a hard ball in water.
    Add dates and cook until it forms a soft ball. Remove from heat; add nuts and beat until stiff.
    Roll in damp dish cloth and store in refrigerator.
    Slice to serve.
