Ingredients

1 qt. beef bouillon or stock
3 c. thinly sliced sweet onions
3 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. Parmesan or Romano cheese
1 Tbsp. sugar (if sweet onions are not available)
Preparation

Pour bouillon in crock-pot.
Cook onions slowly in a large skillet in butter.
Cover and let cook for about 15 minutes. Uncover and add salt and flour (and sugar).
Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours (high 3 hours).
Before serving, top with grated cheese. Recipe maybe doubled for a 5-quart crock-pot.
