Jean'S Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cream
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook all the ingredients, except the vanilla, to a hard boil. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
    When mixture has reached hard-ball stage, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
    Pour into a buttered pan.
    Cool and then cut to desired size pieces.
