Cajun Martini - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 fresh cayenne or jalapeno pepper
    1 unopened fifth gin or vodka
    dry vermouth
    pickled green tomatoes, okra or eggplant (on toothpicks)
Preparation
    Slice pepper in half lengthwise without cutting stem and put in newly opened bottle of gin or vodka. Fill remaining airspace with vermouth and recap bottle. Refrigerate 8 to 16 hours.
    Remove pepper and store bottle in refrigerator until ready to use.
