Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. flour
    1 c. corn meal
    1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. soft shortening
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
