Maple Crunch Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. maple syrup
    3/4 c. soft shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. unsifted flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream shortening with syrup and sugar.
    Add eggs and continue beating until fluffy.
    Measure dry ingredients into sifter.
    Mix together twice to blend, then sift all at once into creamed mixture.
    Stir until thoroughly blended.
    Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
