Gumdrop Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chopped gumdrops
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    2 beaten eggs
    1 1/2 c. applesauce
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 lb. raisins
    1 1/2 c. nutmeats
    1 tsp. salt
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in hot water
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add 2 cups flour, seasonings, eggs and baking soda.
    Sift 2 cups flour over fruit and gumdrops.
    Add to mixture.
    Bake 2 hours in angel food cake pan at 325\u00b0.
    Put pan of water in oven for moisture.
