Chow-Chow(Uncooked) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    5 sweet peppers
    12 small onions (size of an egg)
    1 tsp. black pepper
    6 c. sugar
    2 tsp. turmeric
    1 medium cabbage head
    4 lemons
    5 or less hot peppers
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    First, grind and drain the tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, onions, celery, lemons and hot peppers.
    Mix with other ingredients. Store at room temperature in jars, covered tightly enough to keep sour gnats out.
    But do not seal as it will work like sauerkraut. It is good either before or after it works, though the flavor will change.
