Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour, salt and nuts.
Divide dough into 3 equal parts.
Shape into a ball about 1 1/2-inches around and 7-inches long.
Chill about 4 hours.
Slice into 1/2-inch slices.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet, 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
You can use this for peanut butter cookies also.
