Davies Apple Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 medium to large apples (mix MacIntosh, Cortland and Golden Delicious)
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    apple cider or water
Preparation
    Peel and core apples and slice thicker than pie slices.
    Mix sugar and cinnamon and add enough water or cider to make a loose syrup.
    Put sliced apples into large shallow baking dish.
    Pour syrup over apples.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft.
