Mexican Chicken(Polly Roach'S Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large chicken, cut in pieces
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 (7 oz.) bottle taco sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. minced onion
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. garlic
    2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Brown chicken in oil; spoon off fat.
    Mix sauce ingredients and pour over chicken (all ingredients except cheese).
    Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes until chicken tests done. Place chicken in ungreased pan (13 x 9-inch) and sprinkle cheese on top.
    Bake at 400\u00b0, covered, for 10 minutes.
    Uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes.
    Can be made ahead.
    If kept longer than 24 hours, freeze.
    Serve with noodles.
    Serves 4 or 5.
