Grated Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 medium-size Granny Smith or Winesap apples, peeled and coarsely grated
1 1/3 c. sugar (half of it light brown)
1 egg, beaten
1/2 stick margarine, melted
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Pillsbury all ready pie crust for 9 or 10-inch plate
1/4 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a large bowl.
Add apples and toss gently.
Stir in beaten egg and margarine.
Pour mixture into pastry shell.
(For firmer crust, brush first with egg white.)
If desired, may sprinkle with chopped pecans.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake for 50 minutes or until it quits shaking.
Check after 1 hour.
