Pumpkin Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. cooked, strained pumpkin
2/3 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix and sift the flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
Cream the shortening.
Add the sugars gradually and cream thoroughly. Add the eggs to creamed mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine syrup, buttermilk, pumpkin, nuts and vanilla.
Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the flour mixture, stirring after each addition until
barely smooth. Grease only the bottom of a loaf pan; line with waxed paper and pour in the batter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
Yield:
1 beautiful cake.
