Carrot Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. mashed, cooked carrots
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    powdered sugar
    1/2 orange
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar in a mixer.
    Add egg and beat.
    Add carrots and lemon extract; blend together.
    Stir in dry ingredients.
    Drop by teaspoonful onto a greased cookie sheet; flatten.
    Bake 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool.
    Frost with thin icing made from powdered sugar mixed with juice and grated peel from 1/2 orange.
