English Muffin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    6 c. unsifted flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. milk
    cornmeal
Preparation
    Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
    Heat liquids until very warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0).
    Add to dry mixture; beat well.
    Stir in remaining flour 1 cup at a time, to make a stiff dough.
    Spoon batter into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal.
    Sprinkle tops with cornmeal also.
    Cover with a damp cloth; let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Remove from pans immediately and cool.
    To serve, slice and toast.
    Makes about 16 slices per loaf.
