Ingredients

4 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
4 Tbsp. water
1 c. butter
7 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix and shape into 3 or 4 rolls; refrigerate overnight.
Slice and bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
(We made them large.)
When cold, they get very hard; good dunking in milk, tea and coffee. Put in cookie jar; they get soft the older they are.
If any are left, can add apple to cookie jar.
