Orange Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. plain flour
4 whole eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. orange slice candy, chopped
2 c. nuts, chopped
1 can flaked coconut
1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Dissolve soda and salt in buttermilk.
Place fruit, nuts and candy in large bowl with flour.
Stir to coat each piece good.
Then, add to cream mixture.
Add coconut.
Dough will be stiff; mix by hand.
Cook at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours in tube or loaf pan.
