Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. dates
    1 c. milk
    1/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook milk and sugar to soft ball stage.
    Add dates and cook until dates are dissolved.
    Remove from heat.
    Add nuts; cool. Beat until creamy enough to handle with hands.
    Butter hands and pat into a smooth ball.
    Make a roll about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
    Wrap in oiled or waxed paper until ready to use, then cut in 1/2 inch slices.
