Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    1 pkg. frozen peas
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped onion
    8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into small pieces and place in a 9 x 13-inch glass dish.
    Layer remaining ingredients (veggies).
    Add sugar to mayonnaise; spread over salad.
    Top with cheese and crumbled bacon.
    Cover and refrigerate 8 to 12 hours or overnight.
