Freckles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
    1 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    3 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bits
    1 c. grated carrots
    2 large eggs (room temperature)
    1 c. flour
    3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
