Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cream of tartar
5 c. sifted flour
granulated sugar to dip to bake
Preparation

Cream butter with powdered sugar and 1 cup granulated sugar. Beat in eggs until smooth and creamy.
Slowly stir in oil, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt and flour.
Chill dough.
Shape into walnut size balls.
Roll balls in granulated sugar.
Place on baking sheet; press down gently with bottom of glass.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen.
